Seattle

Seattle, a coastal seaport city in the state of Washington, is the fastest-growing major city in the United States. The Seattle area was inhabited by Native Americans for 4000 years before the first European settlers.

Seattle’s architecture represents its unique history including landmarks that date back to the city’s beginnings and awe- inspiring modern buildings. From the King’s Street station (1906), with its 250 ft clock tower modeled after Venice, Italy’s Piazza de San Marco’s bell tower and the Smith Tower (1914), the 42-story building that was meant to be the tallest skyscraper west of the Mississippi, a title it held for 17 years, to the impressive Music Project Seattle Center (2000), the museum dedicated to rock music, the futuristic Seattle Space Needle and the Seattle Central Library, conceived as five stacked boxes staggered to allow maximum light, Seattle’s skyline captures the vibrancy of the city, which, today is a technical center and hub of the green industry.
